Steps and Sets: The Rules
Objective
Be the first player to complete all ten unique "Steps." A Step is a specific combination of cards. The first player to complete the final, tenth Step and empty their hand wins the game.
The Cards
- Numbered Cards: These range from 1 to 12 in four different colors: red, yellow, green, and blue.
- Wild Cards: These cards are versatile and can be used in place of any numbered card to help complete a Step.
- Skip Cards: When a player discards a Skip card, the very next player's turn is forfeited.
Game Setup
- Each player is dealt a hand of 10 cards.
- The remaining cards are placed face down to form the Draw Pile.
- The top card of the Draw Pile is turned over and placed beside it to start the Discard Pile.
How to Play
On your turn, you must perform the following three actions in order:
- Draw a Card: Take the top card from either the Draw Pile or the Discard Pile.
- Play Cards (Optional):
- Laying Down Your Step: If you have the correct cards for your current Step in your hand, you may lay them down. But you MUST have the entire Step.
- Hitting: After your Step is down, you can play extra cards on any laid-down Step on the table.
- Discard a Card: Select a card in your hand and click on Discard and then End Turn.
